Green Cross Veterinary Products, under the leadership of CEO Na Seung-sik, has released 'Flu ABEN QX,' an avian vaccine designed to effectively prevent QX-type Infectious Bronchitis (IB).

In South Korea, IB viruses have evolved from the Mass virus in the 1980s to the KM91 virus in the 1990s and more recently, the QX virus, which has been causing outbreaks. 'Flu ABEN QX' is a proactive response to these IB virus mutations.

'Flu ABEN QX' employs patented strains from the National Veterinary Research & Quarantine Service (QX virus strain - IBV AVN2/08 strain). Results from vaccinations with this vaccine showed a 0% virus re-isolation rate in the trachea and kidney when chickens were challenged with outdoor QX virus (highly pathogenic Korean nephropathogenic IBV Kr/Q43/06). Furthermore, 'Flu ABEN QX' demonstrated 100% neutralization of the QX strain and partial neutralization of the KM91 strain.

This new addition to the 'FluABEN' series, which already included the IB KM91 strain, is expected to minimize stress and vaccination costs for poultry, enabling farms to establish an optimal vaccination program to combat prevalent diseases effectively.
